A message from IAFF Local 1298 President

The International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) has been the driving force behind nearly every major advancement in fire and emergency services from the early 20th century to today.

Representing more than 350,000 fire fighters and emergency personnel across 3,500 communities throughout Canada and the United States, the IAFF works to protect not only its members but, most importantly, the public we serve. Together, IAFF members safeguard nearly 85% of North America’s population.

Here in Powell River, we share that same commitment. Our goal is to protect lives, property, and each other — while ensuring our members have the tools, training, and support they need to serve with professionalism and pride. This website is designed to be an informative resource, helping our community better understand how we work, train, and advocate to keep you safe.
